Remote Supervision Frequently Asked Questions

 1. Review the list of Acceptable Activities in the Supervised Fieldwork Requirements section of the BCBA or BCaBA Handbook.  

2.Ask your supervisor.

3. A list of acceptable activities include: 

  • Observation and data collection
  • Training staff and caregivers on behavior-analytic programs or content
  • Conducting assessments related to the need for behavioral intervention
  • Meeting with parents and stakeholders about behavior-analytic goals per treatment plan
  • Data graphing and visual analysis
  • Research the literature relevant to client's current treatment plan goals (provided by BCBA)
  • Writing and revising behavior-analytic goals/programs

  A client is considered a living person or group of people who receive behavior-analytic services in any setting. 


   

  • Restricted Hours: Physically working directly with clients, and implementing behavior-analytic services.  Restricted hours only count towards 40% of your total hours.
  • Unrestricted Hours: These include activities such as interpreting data via visual analysis, behavior plan, action plan, program goal writing, peer-reviewed research in relating to a client, and attending supervision meetings.  Unrestricted hours should make up at least 60% of your total hours (you can exceed 60%).
